Hope for Depression Research Foundation
A couple months ago, I had the honor of participating in the 5th annual winter event of Hope for Depression Research Foundation (HDRF). The 2023 Palm Beach 5k Race of Hope to Defeat Depression commenced at Bradley Park with over 900 registered participants, raising over $550,000.
The event would not have happened without the tireless efforts of Audrey Gruss, Chair of HDRF, who is an absolute saint. Gruss proclaimed after the event: “I am simply bowled over by the groundswell of support for this event and for the cause of mental health research. Thank you, Palm Beach!” And there she was at the finish line, high fiving all who crossed!
It is always inspirational when hundreds gather for a cause. Race to Hope brought together runners of all levels, walkers, teams, families, and children from within Florida and beyond. Everyone joined in the unified cause to defeat depression by raising awareness and raising proceeds for continued research in the field.
